Kakuma Studios
The objective of `'`Kakuma Studios`'` is to build a circular economy of opportunity and abundance in UNHCR Kakuma Refugee Camp, in addition to Nairobi and Kenya at large. The manifestation of this will be purpose-built and professionally equipped self-sustaining recording studios within the vast Kakuma encampment.
Phase 1: Ideate; Educate; Create, Produce, and distribute.
Status: Completed
The first phase of this project was to validate the hypothesis; Are the youths of Kakuma Refugee Camp capable of being taught new skills, nurtured by strangers, exposed to new pressures and experiences, able to adapt and thrive to produce original works and succeed in launching a product?
